ICOST 2011 Awards
Six awards will be announced during the IOST 2011 Social Events.
Best Paper Award
This award is given to 1 or 2 best paper(s) submitted to ICOST 2011 based on their technical quality, novelty, and importance to the field.
Best Student Paper Award
This award is given to 1 or 2 best STUDENT paper(s) submitted to ICOST 2011 based on their technical quality, novelty, and importance to the field.
Best Poster Award
This award is given to 1 or 2 best poster (s) in the ICOST 2011 conference based on Poster design, presentation skills, and capabilities of presenter(s) in managing a smooth and professional presentation.
Best Summer School Project Award
This award is given to 1 or 2 best project (s) in the ICOST 2011 Summer School based on the technical quality, novelty, and importance to the field, and quality of the project presentation.
Best Demo Award
This award is given to 1 or 2 best Exhibitor (s) in the ICOST 2011 conference based on presentation skills, technical contribution and innovation.
Most Active ICOST Award
This award is given to 1 or 2 of the most active and hard-working ICOST 2011 Conference Students members based on their continuous efforts to undertake the ICOST responsibilities, and reporting regularly to the conference manager.
Terms and Conditions
The following terms and conditions apply to this competition. Failure to comply with any of the following rules, will automatically lead to disqualification from the competition.
- The award (s) will be given to the first named author of the best paper (s) in the ICOST 2011 conference as judged by the jury.
- The award is for contributed papers only. Invited papers and lecturers are not eligible.
- The paper has to be submitted within the submission deadline as communicated by the editor. One deadline extension may be permitted by special request to the ICOST 2011 secretary.
- The paper has to comply with all instructions regarding formatting, paper length, summary length, and submission requirements. The jury reserves the right to disqualify a paper if it deems that formatting and submission instructions have not been properly followed.
- The first named author has to be the corresponding author for the paper. Changes in corresponding author between the paper submission stage and the Camera-Ready stage are allowed.
- The first named author also has to be the presenting author for the paper.
- The first named author has to register for the conference and pay the applicable author registration fee before the author registration deadline.
- The jury consists of the Conference chair, co-chairs and a number of members of the program committee. The decision of the Conference jury is final.
- A certificate will be presented to each winner.
- The awards are usually given during the social events. The winners have to be present at these events in order to receive their awards.
