“Toward useful services for elderly and people with disabilities.”
Welcome to the website for the 9th International Conference on Smart Homes and Health Telematics. ICOST 2011 will be held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, from June 20 to 22, 2011.
ICOST is a premier venue for presenting and discussing research in the design, development, deployment, evaluation and understanding of Smart Environments, Assistive Technologies and Health Telematics systems. ICOST present research from interdisciplinary fields that utilize, integrate and evaluate embedded computers, information appliances, micro/nano systems, and multi-modal sensors, where computational intelligence is ubiquitous to provide contextual, proactive and personalized applications to foresee services for improving the quality of life and health of people in their home and outside.
ICOST 2011 invites participants to present and discuss their ideas, theories, technologies, systems, tools, applications, work in progress and experiences on theoretical and practical advancements that have significant contributions in smart homes, health telematics, and other assistive technologies. The ICOST 2011 program features keynotes, technical paper, live demonstrations and posters. Furthermore, for the first time an ICOST summer school will be held before the conference.
Who should attend?
Given its multi-disciplinary nature, ICOST has developed a broad base of audience over the past 8 years. ICOST 2011 will provide an international forum for scientists, engineers, managers in academia, industry and government, as well as domain experts in health sciences, rehabilitation and gerontology to address recent research results.
More detailed information about the topics of interest of ICOST 2011 can be found in the Call for Paper.
