Passports
A valid passport is required for entry into Canada by land, sea or air for citizens of all countries.
Visa
For information about visas and entry requirements for Canada, call Immigration Canada at 1.888.242.2100 (in Canada) or visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website. From outside Canada, contact the nearest Canadian Embassy, High Commission, or consulate in your region.
Insurance
Travel insurance is strongly recommended. The policy should include loss of airfare/fees/tour monies through cancellation for any reason; failure to utilize tours or pre-booked arrangements due to airline delay, or for other reasons; medical expenses; loss or damage to personal property; additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements be altered in any way. This travel insurance is to be purchased in your country of origin.
Visa Invitation Letter
Should participants at ICOST2011 conference and summer school need a letter of invitation from the organizers of the conference for filing a visa request, please send an email to the ICOST 2011 Secretary. Please include the following information when you ask for the letter:
- Name
- Affiliation (university/institution/company)
- Contact address
- Phone number
- Fax number (where the invitation lettaer will be faxed)
- Address/phone number/fax number of the French Embassy where you want to place the application
- E-mail address
- Paper ID
- Conference/Summer school
- Registration confirmation number
- Passport Number
- Date and place of birth
- Nationality
- Date and place of Issue of the passport
- Expiration date of the Passport
Please notice that visa invitation letters will ONLY be issued to participants who have registered and paid their registration fees.
The visa invitation letter will be sent to you shortly after receiving your request. Please visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website to find out if you need any further documentation.
