The Centre for research and applications in remote sensing / Centre d'applications et de recherches en télédétection (CARTEL) in Canada's French-speaking province of Quebec is a research group of scientists, students and postdoctoral researchers whose mission is to advance scientific knowledge in remote sensing, as well as its application to observations of the environment. Research projects at CARTEL involve the scientific training of graduate students, postdoctoral researchers and undergraduate interns. CARTEL collaborates closely with the Département de géomatique appliquée (Department of Applied Geomatics) within the Faculté des lettres et sciences humaines and the Faculté de génie (Engineering Faculty) at the Université de Sherbrooke in Quebec, Canada.
